Chase H. Givens is a co-founder of Spear Consulting Group, LLC. and the CEO of Legal Associations Management, LLC (LAM), an entity that manages legal trade associations, legal events, and provides services to a multitude of various entities in the legal industry looking to serve attorneys and clients alike.
While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Chase earned numerous scholarships, was recognized by multiple honor societies and graduated summa cum laude in Finance. After undergrad, Chase obtained his Jurors Doctorate from The University of Alabama and went on to serve as an attorney with the Cochran Firm in addition to his role as CEO of LAM. As an attorney, Chase has worked to grow the Cochran Firms reach into the Mass Tort practice area. Overall, his practice focuses on mass tort litigation, personal injury, environmental law, products liability, and complex litigation. But, his primary mark with the firm related to national growth in the Mass Tort client representation. He is admitted to practice in all Alabama State Courts and all Federal Courts in the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama.
Scott Gehring is CEO of Spear Consulting Group, LLC. Spear Consulting advises plaintiff law firms throughout the country on financing and running their law practices more efficiently.
Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his 15 years as an executive with the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the nation’s largest plaintiff trial lawyer organization. During his time at AAJ, Scott led the membership, marketing, business development, and fundraising teams.
Scott is a graduate of Georgetown University where he earned his degree in government while playing baseball for the Hoyas. He and his wife and three sons currently reside in Maryland.
Evan Bortz is the Director of Operations for Spear Consulting Group, LLC. He brings a background in finance, lending, and risk management.
Prior to coming over to Spear he worked as a mortgage banker at Rocket Mortgage where he closed over $100 million dollars in loan volume. Looking to have a larger impact on the industry, he then moved over to collateral risk management for Rocket where he averaged assessing and making lending decisions on $3.5 billion dollars in loan volume per year.
Evan obtained his bachelor's degree in Political Science & Economics from Towson University and obtained his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. He lives in Dothan, Alabama with his wife and son.
