An Alternative Business Structure, or ABS, is an entity that includes individuals who have an economic interest in a law firm and provides legal services in accord with State Supreme Court Rules (Rule 31 and 31.1(c) in the State of
Arizona). According to The State of
Arizona Supreme Court, an ABS program is “rooted in the idea that entrepreneurial lawyers and individuals would pilot a range of different business forms” that will ultimately improve access to justice and the delivery of legal services.
The purpose of the Association is to aggressively advocate for ABS issues nationally and to educate the public, local & national legal trade associations, state bar associations, and others regarding the positive impact that Alternative Business Structure law firms have on providing affordable quality legal services and access to justice.
